This fall's hunting has pretty much been a bust, with the weather and all. Did get to go out the last afternoon of antelope season and missed a buck with the sharps. Same thing with the deer got out the last day of the season, and while I was close enough for a shot to a bunch of does and fawns, antlered was the only legal optition. Was going to go after whitetail in the Blackhills, but that didn't work out so pretty good eithr. Now theres just a few days of elk season left, and it sorta sucks when the game warden calls and says " you got any idea where the elk are?" Well sir there's always next year....

Don, You live in Wyoming and you don't have big hunting stories (Lies) this year? We are really encouraging anyone to send there photos to add to our photo album. Me and my boys had a great deer season here in western Nebraska.

HEHEhe , yeh between the weather, shipping calves, and we still have a goodly bit of last years elk in the freezer..... Not to mention we had one of our young angus bulls got his jaw broke, so now we have a freezer in the shop and a locker down town full of bull burger, the need/desire to pull the trigger hasn't been real high. lol

Our real hunting is just getting started here in Nebraska. Muzzleloader deer season is from Dec. 1 thru Dec 31. We shoot real muzzleloaders too, not the wanna be single shot rifles. Traditional rifles with patch n ball and real black powder. Pheasant hunting thru Jan 31. Yes it's a little colder but good excuse to go kill something.

One of these days I'ld like to get a handle on how to get a deer license in Nebraska. I have a place I can hunt pheasants on south of Melbeeta, but by the time I get the 83$ license travel over there etc, them is some expensive birds...

I haven't hunted birds for many years. The Quail is just about none existent here anymore and Pheasant are few and inbetween. I have one cock strutting through the yard now and then but he must be a lonely fellow because I have never seen a Hen here in a long time. I think farm chemicals have just about wiped them out. The only thing I see plenty of is Turkeys running through my field and those guys are digging hole in my lawn looking for grubs.

Oops! I meant mule deer. I've got whitetails on the brain since that's all we get around here. Nice deer.
